Janโ€™s Joyhouse

Bresilience

I am about all things ๐‰๐จ๐ฒ professionally and personally. I call it ๐‰๐จ๐ฒ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž when youโ€™re at your best and when you feel most alive and not just your โ€œwheelhouseโ€ or areas of expertise.

Brave Girls podcast, CNN, CBS,Art Talk Magazine, and Friends of Syracuse University: FSU Our History is Here! podcast are media outlets that have featured my ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž stories about how to cultivate joy and purpose in life. ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž means taking ๐ravery + ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž and turning tough times into tenacious triumphs with relentless humor, optimism, and joy.

Impact and Trust

Prior to launching Journey to Joyhouse, I was a Public Service leader at Accenture. Leading teams with responsibility for $4.3 billion in grants/federal funds management serving ~10M+ citizens, developing communications and marketing initiatives at various multi-billion dollar corporations including Fortune 100 organizations, and implementing innovative solutions for nonprofits is about impact and trust.

My ๐‰๐จ๐ฒ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž spans business transformation, change management, executive communications, employee engagement, internal communications, public speaking, leadership development, workforce development, communications and marketing, media training, crisis communications, curriculum development, nonprofit strategy, grants management, federal funds management, and compliance and reporting.

Your Unique Path

I was an adjunct professor at Fordham Universityโ€™s Gabelli School of Business where I taught an upper-level marketing course for four years. As a trained executive coach through the Robin Hood Executive Leadership Development Program, I tell coaching clients that you've always had the answers to some of your greatest challenges. I partner with you to guide you along the path that is uniquely yours.

Community Means Everything

Covenant House New Jerseyโ€™s Board of Directors is where I'm grateful to serve youth experiencing homelessness and survivors of human trafficking.

This community of youth, staff, donors, and volunteers means everything to me.

Risk It to Win

When I am not doing High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts, yoga, Pilates, or other fitness activities, I'm joyfully exploring nature. I have called New York City home for over 25 years, yet I'm forever a Carolina girl born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina.

My one and only son teaches me so much about life including, "Sometimes you have to risk it to win." One last thing Iโ€™ll share is my lifeโ€™s purpose: To make a meaningful and sustainable difference in the lives of others by being of service.
